Insert Test-Me-Tables Into Your Notes

Introduction
Test-Me-Tables are similar to collapsible tables with the additional functionality that you can be tested on the information that you enter into the table.

Insert new test-me-table
You can enter a new test-me-table by doing the following:

  1. Place the cursor at the place where you want to insert a new test-me-table.
  2. Go to the 'Insert' section of the ribbon at the top of Wiznotes.
  3. Click on 'Insert Table'.
  4. Ensure that the radio button is set to 'Test-Me-Table'.
  5. Choose how many rows should initially be in the table. You will notice that test-me-tables will always have two columns. The information that you enter in the second column of each row should be related to information that you enter in the first column of that row. For example if you enter the name of a country in the first column, you might enter the capital of that country in the second column.

Test
After you have entered information into the test-me-table you can press on the 'Test' button in order to be tested on the information that you have entered. Information that you entered into the left column of the table will be displayed, but the information in the right column will not be displayed. You will need to enter the correct information in the right hand column. If you enter the correct information, a green 'v' will be displayed. If the text that you enter is different to the text that you originally entered 'x' will be displayed at the end of the row. At the top of the table a running score will be kept of how well you are entering information in the empty column. If for a particular item you want to see what you originally wrote, you can press on the 'Show' button.

There are different ways to test yourself with the test-me-table:

  • All
Press on the 'All' button at the top of a test-me-table in order to be tested on all the contents of your table.
  • Random
Press on the 'Random' button at the top of a test-me-table in order to be tested on some of the content in your table. The items that you will be tested on are chosen randomly. However the random choice is weighted so that generally you will be tested more on the items that you do not know so well yet. This type of test will speed up the time it takes for you to learn the information in your table. If you want to make sure that you know all the information in your table very well you should do these random tests repeatedly. Any item that you already know very well will only appear in the test list from time to time. Items that you have difficulty entering correctly will be presented to you more often. How well you know each item is stored together with your notes. Therefore if you test yourself one day and then again on a different day, the random test will still be correctly weighted according to how well you personally know the information in the table.
  • Difficult
Press on the 'Difficult' button at the top of a test-me-table in order to be tested only on items in the table that you do not know very well yet.
  • Switch columns
Press on the 'Switch Columns' button at the top of a test-me-table in order to be tested on the information that you entered into the left hand column of your table.
